How much money should I show on bank statements for the D7?

Greenlight editorial · Nov 30, -0001

Short answer: At least 12× monthly minimum subsistence (~€10,440 in 2026), but most consulates prefer 1.5-2× as a safety margin.

The legal minimum is 12 × IAS (~€870 × 12 = €10,440). Consulates often want to see the funds sustained for 6+ months, not just spiked the week before filing. Show €15-20k for a comfortable margin. Our Visa Advisor projects this based on your inputs.
