What counts as proof of accommodation for a Portuguese visa?

Greenlight editorial · Nov 30, -0001

Short answer: A signed lease ≥ 12 months, property purchase contract, OR a notarised hosting letter from a Portuguese resident.

The consulate wants evidence you have somewhere to live. Short Airbnb stays under 90 days are rejected. Long-term Airbnb (3+ months booked) is accepted by most posts. A hosting letter from a Portuguese resident (family, friend) needs Cartão de Cidadão or residency card attached. See our housing guides.
